It was difficult to keep communication clear when my husband and I were not included in the same emails when information was requested. We were both on the loan and should have had equal opportunities to be contacted.

Getting more prompt responses would have helped getting a better rating. I felt like I had to reach out multiple times to get answers on things or status. Also when I was submitting finally paperwork and was asked for statements of assets that I had this is unexpectable. as assets are do not have monthly statements.

We were pre approved for 450k, but bought a house at 240k, and getting that done was a lot of hassle. Somehow NAF tried charging a few thousand dollars to "buy points" to get it to go through, which didn't need to happen. It seems like my credit was soft pulled to pre approve, and the hard pull changed the ability to actually be approved. I actually have 800ish score. NAF also didn't consider some of the earnings on my paystubs as income. I really wonder how let down we would have been if we'd have gone for the $410k house we were considering instead of the house we actually went with if there was THAT much drama getting 240k approved..... Scott was great to deal with. But it put a gray cloud over the whole deal when it became so difficult to get approved, and our cash to close DOUBLED from what we were originally told it would be.
