Encouraging us to refinance was a speedy process, but once we had decided to refinance, the process took especially long. We began sending in our required documents in June. We sent in additional documents in July, and by the time August came, we were still sending in more documents that they failed to ask of us at the beginning of this whole process. It was quite frustrating to be told that we are so close to closing, then get emails saying, "Oh by the way, could you send this also?"

Communication was very scarce. I was told by insurance company that an employee told them the hold up was because we were not communicating with them when the exact opposite was true. We were charged several thousand dollars for extensions that were not of our own negligence and even our realtors had issues getting any type of contact. I would have given lower scores but try to give the benefit of doubt. Overall bad experience and hope to never need their services in future.

My loan officer was removed for some reason and was not notified, I left voicemails with him that went unanswered then found out I had a new loan officer so I left him a voicemail that was never returned

Heather gave our loan to Joyce, which she did very well, but we felt like Heather was not there or too important for us. Thank

Everything was going smoothly until the underwriter "found out" that my husband was part owner of the company that he receives a paycheck from every two weeks. Unfortunately, the underwriter also discovered that the CPA we had hired to do our taxes had made a very minor mistake on our taxes. We hired a CPA assuming that our taxes were done correctly, but after that discovery we were treated like we were trying to hide information and felt like we were being audited by the IRS. We received very little communication to us as to what was happening. Rae completely stopped communicating with us, not answering our texts or emails. We were asked to provide statements for every little thing, which we would do quickly, and then we would hear nothing for a week, at which time we would be asked for another letter or statement. We were repeatedly asked to provide documents we had previously provided. We were asked tax-related questions that made no sense. This went on for months. Thankfully, Jonathan was helpful and provided us status information and was responsive to our questions, otherwise we were ready to move to another loan company as it seemed this process was never going to end and we had no idea why.

I feel that Eric himself did a decent job in getting the deal together but don't think the the right hand knew where the left hand was within the overall mortgage department at new amaerican funding. Think that the communication could be better within the mortgage department. There was a mistake made regarding the inital loan type and was never relayed to whoever orders the appraisal which delayed the closing. As humans, we are going to make mistakes but hopefully the communication within the loan department will get better for future loans. Whenever there is a delay in closing, it affects a lot of people during a very stressful time.
