Unfortunately our original loan amount was $11,000 difference from what we originally were quoted to what we closed. That along with a high closing costs and having to continually send emails asking about follow up. We feel like Michael who assisted Damon once it was turned over to him we were not hearing from Damon anymore. We do understand that he was out due to having a new baby and that is not what we were talking about it was outside of that.

I expressed to Heather Petrillo that the reason for choosing a local office in my community rather than an online service like Rocket Mortgage, was because I wanted one on one guidance through the process, being that this was my 1st home loan. Although I text a few times with Heather Petrillo Heather Moss help me through mostly everything, I was frustrated ready to cancel my loan because I could not get a hold of Heather Portillo to answer my concerns about the loan nor to return my calls.

Numerous messages were left requesting contact via phone but only e:mail responses were received. Contact information listed for processor was incorrect and was never able to get in contact via phone. Was charged for two separate signings due to our circumstances and one was VERY unsatisfactory. Was given several dates that continually moved. When contact was made with us it typically went to the wrong person (wife as opposed to husband). These are just a few of the issues.

The closing was scheduled and we were told that everything was set. On the actual closing day we were told that the mortgage payoff had not been obtained so we had to delay. We were asked to call our former mortgage company to get the payoff expedited- this took many hours on hold on the phone. We felt that this should have been handled by Anthony and he should not have scheduled the closing if the paperwork was not complete. It would have been better if he had checked before scheduling closing

We felt a long gap between when the initial loan proposal was offered (locked in rate, etc) and when our actual application process got started. On top of our uniquely challenging applicant situation was this COVID mess. While a NY Times article makes it clear that COVID threw the home loan industry into total disarray, I feel Team James should have upped their game and been far better communicators--explaining the process and being much more organized with their asks.
