At first everything was great! This was my first HELOC. Bassam explained the process to me so I was very anxious to get started. Once Bassam received the needed documents from me he stopped following up. I had several questions, there were delays and errors along the way. The only person who would respond to me was Gem. I was told by Bassam that my creditors would be paid directly which was inaccurate. I opted to have my loan direct deposited. I received checks made out to my creditors a week later via fed ex in which now I had to mail out. It would have been much easier if the entire loan was deposited in my account and I was given the amounts to pay my creditors. Everyone does business online or over the phone these days. That was a huge waste of time not ti mention slower process.

1. On multiple occasions we were asked to submit documents that we had already supplied. 2. Katy primarily communicated via text and was difficult to reach over the phone, which I felt was unprofessional. 3. Two days prior to closing we were informed there was missing documentation that would delay processing our loan. I was able to obtain this paperwork from my employer the next day, but still it delayed our ability to close. This seemed like something Katy should have known about well in advance. 4. The loan paperwork for closing was incorrect on two occasions. We noticed the first error while at the title company prepared to sign closing documents. The second instance was caught by our realtor, who saved us another 2 hour drive which would have been a waste of everyone’s time (again). 5. Ultimately we closed 6 days later than planned. Because of this we had to pay an additional $400 for the moving company to hold our belongings.

If the lender would have adhered to the contract deadlines and worked more diligently to meet those deadlines. The client was never kept in the loop and we had to push closing multiple times due to issues in the lender’s control

If they had refrained from issuing the commitment letter until after underwriting had actually done their full credit check it would have saved us all a whole lot of time and annoyance. Nearly killed the deal and then William (and his primary point of contact) we're out of town when we needed the get the clear to close. Claims to know how to write loans for all 50 states, this was clearly not the case. I've never had an experience like that before.

Better communication, and had we had that commission wouldn't have been cut. We had numerous delays in closing as well.

Loan processing commitment nonexistent. Sitting on an appraisal for 10+ days in this market is unreal. Third party communications were inadequate. Loan programs and products were not presented or explained.
