Mr. Wilson was terrific; he was not the problem. Mr. Wilson was attentive, highly responsive and made every effort to attend to my loan application. The individual managing my application, Chandler Bundy, appeared to be inexperienced, in over his head, inattentive, uncaring, lacking in the necessary skills to work with an educated consumer, unaware of the manner in which his requests were perceived and overall did not appear to be paying attention to my application.

Better communication. A good faith estimate up front so we know how much you charge for your fees & an idea of what our payment will be. You lose some of the personal touch when you trade it for the convenience of docu-sign. We did appreciate how after we made it known we were unhappy, you turned it around. Communication became much better & you arranged the closing at Carri's office so she wouldn't have to take off work.

2 hours before settlement was to take place, lender calls to say it's been delayed. Should have had 5% down rather than 3% down which also changed APR to more than 1/8% which meant settlement couldn't take place for 3 days due to a federal law. Buyers had their house packed and on a trailer. Ended up staying with 2 different family members till settlement could take place.

There were multiple times it felt like things were poorly communicated. There was also a huge delay in closing. I understand the market conditions push some delay, but it felt like our situation was much more delayed than acceptable.

Our first experience with New American was practically seamless. This time it seemed as though the particular agent was new to the VA loan process. We would provide all documents as requested, however many of the emails we received were vague and all the way up to closing day we were being asked to provide documents or proof of various things that we provided during the pre approval process. I love the ease of New American, however this time was more of a hassle than before. I will not and cannot blame everything on New American as there were outside agencies that were not providing required documents in a timely manner or not in the correct format. I will continue to do business with New American in the future but I would hope that any disconnects with the communication process will be ironed out to allow as stress free as possible home buying experience for anyone.
