There was a situation where he was asked a question by my transaction coordinator and he was aggressive, rude and unkind in his responses. I then intervened and asked if I could call him to discuss this when my flight landed and he said " no need". I asked again and he said " No, I can see how you do Biz" I am a professional and my TC is a wonderful part of my team and he deserves to be respected. I have 3 wonderful trusted lenders that treat everyone on my team with kindness and respect so I'll continue to refer to them. I am shocked he showed up at the closing...to be honest.

With over 6 months to prepare for a closing on a new build, the closing was still delayed over a week due to the lender not having the documentation ready. Using out-of-state processors in different time zones was incredibly frustrating with the hours of operation. Last-minute lists of items needed came in on what should have been the day of closing. Due this poor experience, it caused a high level of stress for the buyers that could have been avoided with proper preparation.

Communication was terrible with Arias. In the beginning we spoke a few times, then as the process progressed, Arias would not not respond to my e-mail or voicemail messages. It was only when I notified customer serice about the lack of communication did I receive any responses. I will say that his associate India was the only reason why I went forward with the loan as she was very responsive and always kept me updated of the process and I was thankful for her.

Blake was friendly and pleasant but when it came down to actually getting things done while under contract, the whole process was a nightmare. First, after shopping around for rates and finding a better deal elsewhere, I shared the competing loan estimate with Blake and he told me they would match it. I was happy with the response and asked to lock in that r***. The next day, he pulled that deal off the table, raised my r*** by 0.25%, and pulled the lender credits we were entitled to from getting underwritten in advance and using a partner realtor. Then after asking to lock the new offer, it took several days to turn around the paperwork. Then, despite being underwritten in advance and responding promptly to all requests, we nearly missed our closing deadline due to delays with NAF. They knew the closing date 3 weeks in advance and left several critical items until the last minute. Four days before closing we were told that we would likely need to put 10% down instead of 5%, a difference of $28,000. This ended up not being necessary but it was ridiculous to drop that news on us so last minute. Blake and Paul were essentially non-responsive when I most needed to be in contact with them to iron out the final details. We were waiting on final approval on the day of close and received our final cash to close number 30 mins before closing. I would not recommend working with NAF and will personally never use them again for a loan.

and lots of problems and lots of hidden fees that kept popping up. Our realtor and the title company also had the same problems with them.
