My client lost $1200 of the seller credit

I hesitate to writing a review for Newamerican Funding (NAF), as it is not one individual who caused a horrible experience for my client/consumer/buyers/mortgagors. This contract was nearly canceled by the Sellers as they grew very insecure regarding the financing legitimacy of NAF. I will not recommend NAF to any clients. Communication with NAF staff was nearly nonexistent. Myself, the Buyers, and the Escrow Attornies, called several times a day to understand the status of the file, and days would pass before hearing from NAF personnel. In real estate minutes matter, my clients expect my response to their calls within a hours. This was the first experience, in my 15 years as a real estate agent, to have lender demonstrate a disregard for their client. Again, this home purchase for my client was nearly canceled by the Seller becuase the insecurity and instability that NAF demonstrated. I, and the Escrow Attornies, were able to calm the Sellers down, and reassured that the file will close. Behind closed doors, I was actively working with another lender to strategize how quickly I can transfer my client's file to help them NOT lose the new home they dream to call their own. Yes, the file uneventually closed--which required closing date extension due to NAF's incompetence. I will not recommend Newamerican Funding to clients.

I worked with Tabitha Marchello at NewAmerican last year for a new home mortgage. The initial mortgage process went smoothly as can be expected. HOWEVER, one of the primary reasons I went with Tabitha was because she promised a free refinance within a few years’ time of the home purchase (was the only company I that offered that to me). After the mortgage was processed, she has been completely unreachable. As soon as the rates went down this year, I reached out to her, hoping to use that free refi. Fast forward a few months of calling and texting and she still hasn’t responded to me. This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing to see. If you need someone to take care of a mortgage for you, Tabitha with NewAmerican is as fine as anyone. But just know that once it’s done, you’re as good as dead to her. If she promises you a free refi, don’t fall for it.

Lied about how we could pay. After Kelly spoke to myself & my husband , got what she needed to process the loan. She did not help or speak with us again. Even when I have called and left countless messages. We like the customer service department but like I was stating we have basically been on our own. Now i wouldn't be upset but I was under the impression she would assist us when needed like she had stated.

I remember this loan agency 2 years ago I spoke to someone name Byron and they gave me the run around with different agents, last year I contacted Zillow loans and the agent took care of me after talking to him he got me an outstanding loan! Finally got my house, I couldn't believe it! Guys shop around im glad I did! I only gave them 2 stars because they kinda did answer when I called and if they couldn't be reached they would call me back.

Joesph never called me back. I got approved for twice as much a year prior with rocket mortgage. I wouldn’t recommend.

If you like waiting and having to prompt people to do their job, this is the company for you. So many hiccups in the process of getting our loan. Took over 3 months from start to finish. I'm not sure how they keep business

We were told a 21 day close was definitely possible. We ended up having to push closing day twice. Sellers almost backed out of the deal on the second missed deadline, our realtor came $500 out of pocket just to get a final extension. Loan processor did not communicate at all until a few days before the original closing date, and evidently had not worked on our file at all before then. She was still asking for documents and explanations one day before closing, which could've and should've been handled within one week of being under contract. Very stressful not knowing what was holding us from getting the clear to close, at one point being told we may be denied, meanwhile our loan officer became unresponsive. To top it all off, our final closing disclosure came in the day before close with closing costs being MUCH higher than what they were in disclosures from just a couple of days earlier. NAF caused an extreme amount of stress, and in the end, gave me an upcharge for it. Will definitely be sharing my experience with others.
