More communication, accurate timelines and efficiency. We were in the dark for most of the process and had to extend closing multiple times due to a slow process. We were well past 30 days on the contract so it doesn’t make sense why we were delayed multiple times with little to no communication.

My credit report was run at the beginning of this process and clearly showed the mortgage that I had co-signed that was in Covid suspension. However, it was not noted as a problem until two days before we were planning to close, after my 8 months pregnant daughter had driven across the country to move into our new house. Then after 2 more weeks, FFBKC made me wait 3 days to SIGN even though in CA you don't close until two more days after you sign. 16 Days in a motel for my pregnant daughter!!

He was not reliable about returning messages. He lost forms/ we had to resubmit some paperwork 2 and 3 times. 3 days before closing, I was practically begging him to reassure me that we would be able to close by the closing date, because he was still asking for two year old w-2’s. Would have been reasonable, had our offer not been accepted 2 & 1/2 months prior. He waited until the last minute to complete our work and it was extremely stressful.

There was a lack of clear communication

Robert Berry seems able but unwilling to pay attention to the details that will matter most in the home buying process. This cost us money, as well as needless anxiety and extra legwork due to canned "industry-standard" responses to practical, case-specific questions pertaining to our home loan. Thankfully we closed the deal, but were told we "should be celebrating" when we tried voicing our complaints. Unprofessional. Would not recommend when there are so many others out there hungry to provide even the "industry-standard" customer service.

Unless I missed emails I did not hear anything at all on the loan process for these buyers until March 15. I received a" not clear to close" last week but that was it. This is not a lot different from some companies but I can't truly give a good review on it besides it did close.

Lack of communication. Hazel Thomas is the worst. The appraisal lady they sent out was a joke. Charged for an appraisal was never told this from the start. I was charged by my old mortgage for a payoff quote. I was charged by my bank for a wire fee to receive the money. This company takes too long to do loans. I typed out a long review on the website. Too much to list on here. I am not happy with this company nor would I send any other clients to this company. I have been in contact with BBB about this company. I was told by Willie that American funding only receives 1,799 dollars to do loans, when clearly there fees are over 20,000. This is crazy. As soon as I can re fi and get rid of this company I will do so.

I’ve never dealt with Miguel, however my buyer did. And he was amazing from what I’m told. I did however, deal with Diana Rodriguez , and Damian S. There was very little to almost no communication with Diana . We were originally due to close March 8 and she had to extend it to March 20 needing documents. Two days before, March 18, at 6:30 PM. I received a text message that we weren’t closing because she was waiting on a document. my buyers had flown in from another state for the closing, and were completely distraught over the news, as we thought, everything was good to go. While she “waited“ we did research and found out that the document was never sent to the parties. I reached out to Damian and we got the ball rolling. The following day, I spoke with Damian and he received the correct document, simultaneously receiving a message from her that she was still “waiting”. Damian discovered that the employer needed to complete the form for VA and had checked a wrong box. He and I both reached out to the employer and got the document corrected and sent back immediately. Unfortunately, we were not able to close on the 20th because of this Fiasco. Damian pushed it through an expedited to get things going so that we could close on the 22nd. Another text from Diana still saying we were waiting on the correct document while all this other stuff was taking place. Finally, things were scheduled and we were ready to go, disappointed for the delay, but happy it was going to take place. Damian was awesome! Finally the night before received message from Diana that we were going to close. She completely was oblivious to everything going on and had my buyers in a complete panic and meltdown needlessly. I feel that phone calls etc. should have taken place the week prior to ensure all documents were received by the 2 PM deadline on the 18th, two days prior to closing, to make sure closing occurred on time, especially after it was already postponed from the eighth. And her telling us misinformation was horrible. Had it not been for Damion (and apparently Miguel) we might still be “waiting” around for a document to be received from her. She was not proactive at all and the lack of communication was disheartening. I tried to buffer the situation and defend her but when the buyers were messaging me with “Have you heard anything? I’m not hearing from Diana…” that’s a problem. I am the realtor and don’t usually resort to this but the process was very stressful to my buyer…. Until the end when the other 2 processors took charge. Thank you to both of them!! Ps) answering the survey did not give me a place to enter that the review was not for Miguel until this note section. The answers were a reflection on her…..
