Better communication and answering the phone at all or emails in a timely manner would have helped. When the buyers and I were clearly having concerns about closing on time, no one with New American seemed to feel the urgency and dismissed our concerns, we ended up needing to extend the closing date because of this and because it got extended over a holiday weekend, the buyers were unable to take possession of their new home for 5 extra days. The reason for the earlier closing date was a rate lock your company set and we were dangerously close to losing that. The transaction went extremely smooth until the end and that was a disappointing way to end the transaction.

More clear comunication

Important documents were frequently missed managed. Repeatedly we were asked to re-submit information. Important. There were also several misunderstandings about terms/definition of terms related to the loan that were poorly explained. Perhaps if your well versed in dealing with mortgage lenders envoy is a suitable option but for first time home owners prepare and educate yourselves because that’s the only help you’ll get.

Service started out very good, starting to get to the end of the things just went downhill. Other people that you are assigned to work with don't talk to and share information needed. At settlement this company ask for extra money after we were told one price less than 24 hours before settlement. All the stress could have been avoided if all the different people worked together.

We wanted to view a property but the realtor required that we were preapproved prior to looking at the property. They gave our information to this company and they called numerous times and emailed as well. If we didn’t contact you back we were never interested. When I spoke with Stephanie she flat out said don’t contact a realtor if you not preapproved, you can’t even look at a property. First of all I did not reach out to the realtor they contacted me when I inquired about the property on Zillow. All of this because we were interested in the home next to our grandparents home. Based on the online reviews this company is shaky.

We tried for weeks to get an answer from Jay about a financing contingency that my broker required. It wasn't until I took action and just did it myself. I almost did not get paid on this transaction. It was extremely frustrating for us because of the agent and lender's lack of communication with us.

Should have been able to offer more accurate info throughout this process. I believe we were delayed when we did not have to be.

Customer service received a detailed e-mail with backup to support my claims and the many ways my file was dropped. I was charged TWO extensions that were at the fault of the processor involved because she failed to do anything with my file. JT was not compassionate or understanding and did not attempt to help at all. I could not even get him to answer the phone after my appraisal was completed. This was by far, the worst experience I have ever had with purchasing/refinancing a home mortgage.
