No surprises in closing costs, etc. Understanding that I do not refinance homes for a living. It is one of the most critical things to go through regarding finances so a representative of NAF should understand this completely. I hope in the future others do not get so upset with the process. If I knew this going in I would have went to another mortgage company. Sincerely, William Bonk

Luke was very helpful and pleasant in our initial conversations. After the loan went in to processing the communication stopped completely though. I had to initiate all communication and status updates. After finding out there was an error in processing (wrong address entered by New Funding) which caused added processing time and now an appraisal, the rate lock expired. Several weeks later after the error was corrected I received a closing disclosure with a number of updates (points now added, additional fees, and credit removed). I expected someone would call to discuss the updates but never was afforded the courtesy. The overall process was ok but the customer service received from Luke was not up to par with what I have experienced with other refinance companies.

WE WOULD HAVE SHOPPED FOR ANOTHER AGENT. MORE THAN ONCE OUR AGENT SEEMED TO FORGET WHAT DOCUMENTS WE FORWARDED TO HIM. MORE THAN ONCE THE PHRASE “JUST ONE MORE DOCUMENT AND YOU WILL BE THROUGH!” PERHAPS OUR AGENT HAD TOO MUCH IN FRONT OF HIM BUT FOR MY SPOUSE AND MINE’S OLD AGE THE EXPERIENCE WAS “TOO” FRUSTRATING TO GO THROUGH ANOTHER LOAN OR REFINANCE WITH THAT SAME AGENT!

Communication and follow-through fell off completely after we signed an intent to fund. It's apparent that after we had made the decision, New American's interest in us or our needs completely disappeared. We will most likely seek future funding elsewhere and recommend all others do the same.

The communication between employees is unacceptable . Licensed loan officer are unfamiliar with VA requirements, promises are made and consistently and not completed on time. Communication between NAF and customers in unsatisfactory. Emails and telephone requests for call back were ignored. The loan was completed late and the entire experience was frustrating and unnecessarily difficult to complete.

Dealing with another loan consultant. He did not take care of things in time therefore causing many issues with the closing along with the fees constantly changing without notice.
