Communication, urgency, and professionalism. The process was horrible. The attorneys office as well as our agent and the sellers agent were in complete shock. The ball got dropped by Brian, and Samuel was no better with the excuses. Pedro the supervisor was of no help or assistance. Our closing date and time was changed at least five times. The 22nd to the 28th to the 29th at 12, then 3pm. The attorneys office closed at 2 due to it be Good Friday, but they came back just for our closing. At 5:15 there was still nothing. The only reply Brian kept giving was give me five minutes. If there was not so much to lose by the time closing came I would have backed out. We lost out on three days of PTO each, not to mention hotel stay, moving truck, and helpers. I would highly encourage a process map to be created or reviewed.

I pride myself on communication with my clients. It would take multiple emails to receive any type of update. There were times I would go weeks without any updates. While I understand there were unforeseen delays in the transaction, to get any type of update I would have to reach out instead of Brian and his team proactively letting me know. As the agent who was trying to coordinate all of the moving pieces, an update would only come after I requested it and often hours or DAYS after what was being requested happened. For example, my buyer asked if we could move up closing. I informed her it would be dependent on when the appraisal came back. She informed me that it had come back 2 days prior. I was not made aware that it was received back, that there were no workorders, or if it had come back in at offer value or not. I spoke up and informed Brian that this type of miscommunication can't happen as it makes us all look like we have no idea what is happening and we are the ones who are being trusted. He apologized yet the communication never seemed to get better even as we had 3 more weeks to get to the finish line. Secondly, while there was a secondary appraisal delay, the communication between Brian, Samuel, myself, and my client was severely lacking. The number of times I was told that we would close "today" and then closing was pushed back 3 more times made everyone look like we were new to the business. I truly felt for my buying clients through this transaction because while they were seemingly jumping through every hoop imaginable, Brian and his team did not give the impression that this transaction was important to them.

Was promised multiple times over the course of the process that I would receive a deferred payment. Due to it taking so long, no deferred payment was given. When I brought this up, I was told they would not fix the issue. I also have messages showing that the payment would be deferred, still no solution given.

Review by Ameca Thomas for Morgan Schmidt

Completed transaction on March 3, 2024

I appreciate the response and communication from Alyssa and the manager. At times, Morgan was very rude and unprofessional. Often she wouldn’t respond. Overall, it appeared that we were “bothering” her through this process. With the amount of investment, it would be beneficial to have someone professional and knowledgeable.

Review by Natalie A Tweed for Noah Patterson

Completed transaction on February 8, 2024

I am happy with my loan and the rate. I am not happy with Noah Patterson and team. Our closing was delayed and the only reason I knew about it was because I called the title company. No one from the team reached out until I reached out to them. Also during initial conversations with Noah we were told we would have "the Noah Patterson experience" - lets just say that experience was not good. Noah Patterson comes off pompous and pretentious for that reason I would not use them again.

Review by Samuel Goldberg for Sheel Galliara

Completed transaction on February 8, 2024

We nearly lost out on the house we were buying because there was nearly complete silence from Sheel towards the end of our loan process. We kept asking, for well over a week, if he needed anything more from us or anyone else in the process who we could push. We were told every time that we were fine, and he didn't need anything. Both DKMortgage's site and our title company said we would have the Final Closing Documents at least 3 days before our closing date. We did not receive them until we had already missed our original appointment for the closing. Our original appointment to close at the title company was at 9am on Friday, July 23rd. We FINALLY got the documents, that should have been in our hands 3 days earlier, at 11:30am on Friday, July 23rd. We were fortunate that the sellers were patient. Even with a slow system, even with some blunders in terms of my credit, this was abysmal communication from Sheel, who's meant to be our point of contact with the lender. We hammered away trying to get answers for days, with the few responses we got from Sheel being entirely vague and unhelpful. He would tell us that paperwork would be ready 'shortly' and then we wouldn't see anything for 2 days. 2 days before our closing, we were told they needed to confirm our employment again. At one point Sheel claimed that they had been waiting for documents from our title company, which had caused the delay. Our Real Estate agent disputed that, saying they had sent the paperwork the previous week and hadn't heard back from you. After complete silence for days, we contacted your VP of Credit regarding the poor communication from our agent. He was very understanding and professional, and we are convinced that the loan would not have moved through if he hadn't gotten involved. When it became clear we would miss our closing time on the 23rd an email chain between us, our agents, and the sellers wanted answers. He sent all of one email that the documents had been sent. No apology for the delay, no help in keeping the seller's agent in the loop, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I could go on, but I think it is clear that I will not be recommending your business to anyone else, nor would I use you again if I had to do it all over again.

Review by Dawn M Moro for Robert Faust

Completed transaction on February 8, 2024

Lack of communication. When they needed something it was always a rush but then they would sit on the documents for weeks before asking for clarification or informing us they the statements were now old and needed to be updated. Took 3 1/2 months to close on a refi w/ cash out. We closed a week ago now and I don’t have any proof that anything has been paid off and never received a call we could come pick up our check from the balance of the cash out. Terrible overall experience. As someone with a lending background I am disappointed in how little communication there was and how long it took to close based on what seemed like our loan just hanging out on someone’s desk.

Very poor response. It takes multiple emails/messages/calls to get a response. I have requested 5 times via text/email/phone for a 2nd refi, atleast tell me that you do not want to do it!
