New American Funding Reviews

Diego Bonilla deserves 0 stars. After several weeks of him having all necessary information, he finally got back to us with a verbal pre-approval. He let us know he had to check on how the taxes were split for the two homes we wanted to purchase, hence only getting a verbal approval at that time. When he told us the taxes would prevent him from approving us for the two homes on one parcel, he never specified that we would no longer be approved at all. I’ve been calling and texting Diego for a week trying to get a final answer on if we are approved, since he did say we were. Now we are forced to renew our lease rather than buying a home right now because he wasted so much of our time. It’s not about if we got approved or not, he still should’ve let us know before completely ghosting us. I do not recommend working with New American Funding and I would highly encourage you to not work with Diego, unless you have time to waste and the energy to deal with his lack of professionalism.

Would not go here unless u really understand completely everything & I had fam who work here. Easy loan, my friend had good credit, but a learning disorder. He wasn't told his new home could be reassessed & there is a capping on taxes, etc. He received a 50% increase on his mortgage and couldn't refinance bc he had gotten such a low rate for good credit. Now he suffers from financial hardship and losing his home, all chalked up to a "miscommunication" I regret everyday I thought he would've been taken care of worst mistake of my life.

More communication and more timely communication especially when issues arrived. Our closing was delayed by days and documents were still being requested the morning of closing despite us having provided all requested documentation timely. The closing cost amount changed and we were notified of that change at closing when the title group wouldn’t accept our cashiers check. Responsiveness to phone calls and emails were atrocious with often times not even returning an email until we followed up three or four times. We were told we wouldn’t have enough funds to close and then two days later we’re told we had a surplus of money after the employment verification came back despite us having notified via email of the income change. This was an absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable experience and was frankly embarrassing to have this team represent us to the builder. We have had wonderful experiences over the last 4 years with a different team but this has absolutely ruined this company for us for future transactions.

Scott Chapman tried to charge us a high amount of points for an interest rate that is nothing short of price gouging. When we got better offers elsewhere he gave us something comparable but has not produced the agreed upon paperwork as promised. He makes it seem like he is doing us a favor by doing this and tried to get us to sign paperwork that didn’t have the agreed upon amounts and promised to “change” it to what we agreed to by closing. Absolutely ridiculous to ask us to sign something we don’t agree to! If you like broken promises and shady practices, this is for you. If not, look elsewhere.

No communication to me. Late to answer messages. provided me false information. Had to reschedule settlement 3 times. Cost my clients time and money... They lived out of a hotel for 10 days due to false information provided.

NEW AMERICAN FUNDING is the WORST most UNPROFESSIONAL business I have EVER dealt with. They will RUIN your credit during the application process. They will make you breach contract and they WILL pretend it’s not THEIR fault. They will not own any of the mistakes they make, and will have your head SPINNING by the time closing is near. (If you breach contract the seller of the house you are buying CAN walk away with no if ands or buts). The sellers agent can KEEP your deposit and any other money you put into the house. NEW AMERICAN FUNDING knows this and they DO NOT care. They are extremely invasive and require you give them information they DO NOT need. They have a HUGE turn around rate (with employees) and they will bounce you around to 5+ different people before the loan even goes through. And every time they pass you off, the new person isn’t made aware of where you are in the loan process. You then have to start everything over again. Not to mention they are IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. You have to nearly HARASS them to answer any questions you have. Their customer service is AWFUL. And when you request a supervisor it takes WEEKS for one to reach out to you. They constantly add more and more “fees” into everything. Our interest rate went up 3 different times during our process because the idiot working on our loan “unlocked” our rate every time he could. (A higher interest rate brings them more money in the long run). I was told by my realtor, and many other professionals who work in finance that this company is HORRIBLE, and that they have never heard of half of the b***s*** they require. PLEASE listen to this and STAY AWAY from NEW AMERICAN FUNDING. They will make the entire home buying process HELL.
